Stormville Airport : Stories : Jim Spinner
Jim Spinner wrote about his father, "As a boy growing up my Dad and Mom would take all of us kids (8) over to Stormville from Pawling, almost every weekend, to enjoy the "family" of the Airport. My Dad was once the youngest pilot in New York at 16 years of age. He loved to fly and to take us kids for rides. He would rent a Piper Cub or Cessna and up we would go flying, of course, not all at once.
"It was always fun watching the airshows or the skydivers and enjoy a hotdog or hamburger and a cold sasperilla or cream soda. I can remember my Dad going into the white house while we waited on the porch. This would have been back in the late 50's and 60's. What a treat it was to experience that adventure. Recently Dad passed away at the young age of 84."
